Where the "Her Toolbox" Idea Came From

Her Toolbox is our way of giving high school girls the resources we wish we had received then, and it's a real labor of love.

Zainab and I both wanted to be able to give back to and provide resources for communities impacted by Coronavirus. We kept hearing about high schoolers and college students losing their internships/ summer plans and were done feeling disillusioned and helpless about all the chaos in the news. We wanted to redirect our energy towards creating positive change, and while brainstorming about how to do that, I suggested that we teach. There had to be a subject that we have accumulated knowledge about in college that we can teach high school girls! And we landed on UX/UI design and Finance.

We hope to definitely expand the breadth of "Her Toolbox" in the future, registering it as a non profit and adding more subjects to the curriculum.

We are currently recruiting for our team and our applications (for both the team and the program) are open!
